Description

Curt Mangan 10.5-48 Electric Guitar Pure Nickel Half Size Set

Gauges: 10.5-14-17-26-38-48

String Length: 43 inches

Pure Nickel wound strings were used exclusively on most guitars built in Fifties and most of the Sixties. Pure Nickel has a slightly warmer tone than nickel-plated steel and is preferred by many blues artists.

Pure Nickel Wound strings are created by wrapping Pure Nickel alloys around a hex-shaped core wire which is made from tin-plated high-carbon steel (same as plain strings, but hex-shaped).

    10.5 Pure Nickel Strings

Posted by Frank Doris on 22nd Oct 2024

The best strings I've ever played, by far. 10.5 strings aren't all that easy to find and these are superb in every respect. They sound great and are a little more flexible than regular (not pure nickel) strings. They're also a little easier to play, which makes a difference.

    10.5 Pure Nickel Strings

These are by far the best 10.5-gauge strings I've tried, along with the Curt Mangan nickel-wrap strings. They sound and feel great and last a long time. I'm very happy they make pure nickel strings in this oddball gauge!

Like another reviewer, I put these on my teles and tune down to Eb and they really perform well. Long lasting, intonate well and balanced sound string to string . Love them !

    Perfect Balance for Eb tuning

Posted by Unknown on 9th Oct 2016

These strings performed excellent. They do not break easy, stay in tune better, and last longer than regular more inexpensive strings. I used them on a long scale guitar tuned to Eb and found them to be a better balanced set and felt closer to a normal 10-46 set while in the flat tuning. Shipping was efficient as well.

    Great Strings

Posted by Mike Spivey on 10th Aug 2013

I gave the strings a 4 because I reserve the best place to Matt Schofield's signature set! However, these strings are great sounds with nice highs and a tight bottom. IF you like that "Jingle-Jangle" snappy tone for a strat, these are just perfect. Also, like all of Curt's strings they stay in tune and do not break easily. I've never broken one of curt's strings and I bend the heck out of them! I always feel confident that his strings will not break and that helps me to play my best in live performances. Tone, Tone, Tone!
