Phosphor Bronze wound strings were introduced in the early Seventies and have become the most popular acoustic string. Phosphor bronze wire is made from approximately 92% copper, 7% zinc and 1% phosphorous. Phosphor Bronze provides nice highs and lows, as well as pleasant subtle overtones. Phosphorous is used to help reduce tarnish and corrosion.

great strings

I decided to try local (I live in CO) - and after I did - I kept ordering. Use these on my Taylor 814ce with great effect. The guitar was designed to use .013 on top - these work much better.

Every set of strings including single plain strings absolutely love the Substaniz, sound, and especially the feel. The reason I buy the single strings, is I replace the wound G string with a plain string.

Best Steel Strings

After many years of trying various guitar strings from all the known companies out there, I am happy to say that my search is finally over. First, round core strings seem to bring out more of the fundamental notes, they have a bit more weight to them. But these here made by Curt Mangan simply top the list. My guitars play louder, and the feel of these, their tension, and the sensitivity to my dynamics that these strings offer is simply the best I have encountered in my 35 years of playing. Do yourself a favor and give these a try. I for my part will not play any other strings...ever!

tried a set of round core on my electric and loved it! Complete game changer! Had to get a set for my acoustic! It never has sounded better. Brilliantly balanced tone!

I find these to be the answer to the "stiffness" issue on my Breedlove Jumbo. Have not used round core in years. They seem well balanced and defined. I substituted the high E and B strings with 11.5 and 15.5. I'll purchase more!
