Custom 7 string bass set
When I ventured into the extended range world I knew my string choices were limited. But a luthier friend of mine told me about Curt Mangan custom strings. And I’ve been using them on my 7 string ever since (almost 10 years) I love that select my own string gauges and have the high C wound
Only Strings I Use
I am primarily a bass player but also play guitar. Curt Mangan are the only strings I use. Great tone, long lasting and the best customer service.
Custom 40-120 Nickel
Mangan Nickels are my go-to strings. I’ve playing them for several years. Occasionally trying other brands, I end up back with these. They’re consistent, last an appropriate amount of time for me (about a month of hard playing), feel and sound the way I want my string to feel & sound. Curt’s awesome to work with providing excellent customer service.

Wow...a company that makes strings for 7 string bass, and GREAT strings at that! They are snappy-bright when I need it and full and warm. I'll be getting all my strings from you now! Custom guage bass strings
I've been playing my first set of custom guage bas strings, and they won't be the last! I play with a pick, and tend to have a heavy attack, and these strings are showing almost no wear, where my previous brand would have lost most of the brightness. I won't use another string but Mangan's!
