Pure Nickel wound strings were used exclusively on most guitars built in Fifties and most of the Sixties. Pure Nickel has a slightly warmer tone than nickel-plated steel and is preferred by many blues artists.
Pure Nickel Wound strings are created by wrapping Pure Nickel alloys around a hex-shaped core wire which is made from tin-plated high-carbon steel (same as plain strings, but hex-shaped).

The best.
This has been my preferred set for 5+ years on multiple guitars. The pure nickel sound cannot be beat. They sound amazing fresh and slowly lose some clarity after a few weeks. I typically go 2-3 months between changes and each time I feel like they could go even longer. Lighter top thats great for bending and heavier bottom that is great for people with a heavy right hand.

These are great strings - I really like the fell and sound
Just YES!
I had the priviledge to play these strings years ago, but due to my favorite local shop closing I could not easily get these strings. Flash to last month and I bought the six pack and used these strings for the first time in 5 years. They were everything that I remembered. Get play and just the right amount of tension. The tone, was just stellar! Smooth but articulate and I don't use them for classic rock, I play in a punk/hardcore band and they work very well. Definently give these strings a chance if you are tired of modern nickel strings of other companies.
