Curt Mangan 9-42 Electric Guitar Nickel Wound Set.
Gauges: 9-11-16-24w-32-42
String Length: 43 inches
Nickel-Plated Steel wound strings were introduced in the late Sixties and have become the most popular alloy for electric guitars and bass. Nickel-plated steel tends to offer the most balanced tone.
Nickel Wound strings are created by wrapping Nickel-Plated Steel alloys around a hex-shaped core wire which is made from tin-plated high-carbon steel (same as plain strings, but hex-shaped). The core-to-wrap ratio is the combined diameters of the core wire and the wrap wire which creates the overall diameter of the string.

Best Strings Available
I have tried and played many string brands. Most are quite good but Curt Mangan strings are the best for my old Les Paul and JTM45. Been playing this one guitar and amp for nearly 20 years and Curt's 9-42 nickle wounds are without question the best for overall balance and clarity.
Excellent Value
I have been playing Curt Mangan Fusion Matched strings for about 10 years now. I have never been let down by a set, consistent quality. Excellent value for the money
String Search is Over
After a few months of trying many different string brands and gauges, my search is over with the Curt Mangan Nickel Wound 9-42's. Great balanced tone and clarity string to string, plus better than average longevity, make these worth the bit extra spent per set.
Nickle Wound
Very responsive strings, hard to break, love to be stretched, they stay in tune and the tonal response is very dynamic.

Simply this: I've been using Curt Mangan strings for 2 or 3 years now. They are the best strings in every way that I've used in 57 years of playing.
Curt Mangan NickelWound strings
After 10+ years with DM Blue Steels, I figured it was time to test the waters again and see if there was anything out there that sounded any better but still as durable and consistent. Tried several brands and types of construction but the Curt Mangans stood out of the pack in a big way. They retained their tone longer, the tone cuts the mix better with the same gear. Each guitar I tried them on felt and sounded more alive and how the guitar seems to have been designed to sound. I didn't want to like them because of the price but getting them direct from Curt Mangan in the 6-pack makes it feel like a little better. There are less expensive strings out there but peace of mind is worth the extra cost to me.
NickelWound
I have tried many strings and these are my favorite. Full tone and not stiff like some. Ball ends don't break off like other brands.
Curt Manan Fusion Matched Nickel Wound
I switched over to Curt Mangan strings about 1 1/2 years ago. Mangans are hands down the best strings I have played in 30 years of playing. I really hear the difference in the studio. These strings last a long time as well, I play a lot (17-20 hours a week easy) and these strings hold up to it. I've had these last 8 months showing no signs of rust, maintain good tone quality and stable tuning. I wish I'd found these strings sooner. I highly recommend these strings!
Love Em
These are my favorite electric strings, and I have tried every brand I've came across. Hold tune during bends, and have a nice fat tone without being muddy.
