Nickel wound guitar strings are made by winding nickel-plated steel wire around a tin-plated, high-carbon steel hex core wire. (same as plain strings, but hex-shaped). The “core-to-wrap” ratio is the combined diameters of the core wire and the wrap wire which creates the overall diameter of the string. Nickel wound guitar strings have a very balanced tonal response with sparkling highs, clear mid-range and defined bass. These guitar strings are available in many gauges as single strings and you can also build your own custom gauge nickel guitar string sets with you own perfect balanced tension.
Curt Mangan guitar strings have an overall length of 43 inches with winding to 38.5 inches. All Curt Mangan guitar strings are made with USA made wire.

10-50 (20W-G) NickelWound Electric Guitar Strings.
The best strings that I have ever played. Wound G is a must for me so I have these on all of my solid body electrics. This set sounds and feels very well-balanced; lows come through but do not overpower, and the highs are clear but not too bright. I can’t find Mangan strings in any of the guitar shops near by but I am more than happy to order them direct. All of my orders from Mangan.com ship quickly and I always receive exactly what I ordered. I purchased a Les Paul Custom on a recent trip to Nashville and the only thing that I asked them to change on the guitar was the strings. I had to have my Mangan NickelWound 10-50 with a 20Wound G on that guitar too. I don’t ever see myself switching guitar string brands again. I buy slightly larger sets for my acoustics and arch tops and Mangan.com offers an extensive selection so they are my one stop guitar string shop.

Great strings. I use these on all of my solid body electric guitars. They sound great and maintain that sound after multiple uses. Perfect for My Tuning
I use a 25.5" scale with top-load bridge tuned to D standard and they're perfect. They're snappy and have great tone. These are my go-to strings from now on.
