Nickel wound strings are made by winding nickel-plated steel wire around a tin-plated, high-carbon steel core wire. Nickel wound bass strings have a very balanced tonal response with sparkling highs, clear mid-range and defined bass.

Custom strings
Not only does Curt Mangan make this custom gauge set available with fast shipping, but they are a better value than the Rickenbacker set (I like those, don’t get me wrong) at half the cost. They sound bright and crisp, and make my Ric sound how it’s supposed to. Curt Mangan will be my strings of choice from now on.
Bass Strings. I just can't say enough about my 45 - 105 custom bass strings. I use them on my Jazz and on my BC Rich.
I found that on My B.C Rich with some playing around with the tone and volume I can almost hear a stand up bass.
nickel bass strings
came across curts strings for my Rickenbacker 4003 and found out they have more zing and life than the Rickenbacker gauge bass strings I used to get. Curt will now be my " go to" guy for strings. they sound so much clearer and better then the expensive rickenbacker bass strings ! good job and well done guys !!!
Great Strings
I have a couple Rickenbacker basses and the string gauges are not typical sizes. Rickenbacker sells strings but they are costly and shipping is expensive. I came across Curt Mangan strings and gave them a shot. I was not disappointed and would recommend!
