Curt Mangan 09.5-44 Pure Nickel Half Size Guitar String Set
Gauges: 9.5-11.5-16-24-34-44
String Length: 43 inches
Pure Nickel wound strings were used exclusively on most guitars built in Fifties and most of the Sixties. Pure Nickel has a slightly warmer tone than nickel-plated steel and is preferred by many blues artists.
Pure Nickel Wound strings are created by wrapping Pure Nickel alloys around a hex-shaped core wire which is made from tin-plated high-carbon steel (same as plain strings, but hex-shaped).
Ever want to create your own customized and personalized guitar, bass, mandolin or banjo sets? Curt Mangan Strings lets you choose the alloy and custom gauge strings that you want, plus you can design your sets to be the perfect balanced tension sets you’ve been searching for. 9.5 -44 Pure Nickel
10's were too hard to bend. 9's were too easy. Like Goldilocks said "this one is just right".
Great strings
These strings are awesome, they sound warm and last a long time. When I couldn’t find the 1/2 size strings by a more known manufacturer that I had been using, I gave these a whirl. I was very impressed and have using them ever since. Thanks for making great strings, Curt.
6 String Elec Guitar Strings
I use ONLY Curt Mangan Strings on all of my stringed instruments. ‘’98 Martin D-28 acous/elec.”2017 Fender Nashville Telecaster,” 92 Mullen E9 pedal steel guitar.PedalSteel Guitars are notorious for breaking their 3rd strings.Ive not broken 1 of them in the last 6mos. since switching over to Curt Mangan Strings. That’s Phenomenal. I’ve told all of my musician friends about them and have even given them sets to try. Many of them have converted to C.M. Strings. Thanks for building a Great product that is reliable. Reliability is HUGE when you’re playing out Live.
Pure Nickel Strings
I'm a fan of half size sets on my 25.5" scale guitars and these are by far the best I've played. Nice feel, mellower tonality, great for blues and r&b/soul tunes I play. The service has been top notch and I enjoy supporting a good Colorado based company.
Excellent Gauge Choice
A friend recommended this gauge choice he had tried instead of 9's & 10's. I in turn recommended Curt Mangan Strings. The strings are excellent, for me more control, just right. Curt and his staff are excellent to deal with. GREAT!!!customer service. He takes the time to talk with you and makes sure your happy with your purchase.
Love the half size sets...............
Great sounding and playing strings. I'm now favoring them over the GHS and D'Addario pure nickels I've been playing.
Very responsive..............
My initial impressions are positive. The Pure Nickel strings mellow out the top end from my single coil pickups nicely and I'm a huge fan of these half sets. I use either 9.5-44s or 10.5-48s on all of my guitars and these are among a very few pure nicked sets made in those gauges. I haven't had them on for long so I can't speak to their longevity but so far so good and if they continue to hold up and meet expectations I'll continue to use them.
great sounding and long lasting strings
i have been using CM pure nickel 10-48's on my gibson scale guitars for years. the 9.5-44's are perfecto to retain the feel and string tension on fender scale instruments. they have a great feel and tone and last a very long time.
Curt Mangan pure nickel
Great company,,, I bought the pure nickel 9.5 electric strings and they give me the clean tone that I expected,,, I will buy again
Yes, there is a difference.
Like most players, I never put much thought into what strings I use except for the gauge relative to the guitar I am stringing. I kept reading about Curt Mangan strings and thought I'd give them a try. After the first set, I've never looked back. These strings feel so smooth and sound musical for weeks even with frequent playing. Tolerances are precise and the quality is second to none. My only complaint was oxidation on wound strings if I didn't use a set in a few months. The new sealed packaging has eliminated that issue. I prefer pure nickel and appreciate the half gauge strings and the ability to make a set with personal gauges.
