Pure Nickel wound strings were used exclusively on most guitars built in the Fifties and most of the Sixties. Pure Nickel has a slightly warmer tone than nickel-plated steel and is preferred by many blues artists.

Pure Nickel Wound strings are created by wrapping Pure Nickel alloys around a hex-shaped core wire which is made from tin-plated high-carbon steel (same as plain strings, but hex-shaped).

You Want Sound.......Curt Mangan Strings!!!!

I have used CM strings for several years now on all my guitars and find them to be of superior quality to other brands on the market. They are very long lasting and seldom break. I play them on my Strats, SG's, and all my high end Takamine Acoustics and Acoustic-Electrics. I use the Pure Nickel 10-46 on all my electrics and the 12-54 Phospher-Bronze Coated on all Acoustic & Acoustic-Electrics. I also sell them exclusively at my store......to be clear: Curt Mangan Strings are the only strings I carry! I don't carry anything that I don't believe in and I believe in Curt Mangan Strings!!
