Nickel wound guitar strings are made by winding nickel-plated steel wire around a tin-plated, high-carbon steel hex core wire. (same as plain strings, but hex-shaped). The “core-to-wrap” ratio is the combined diameters of the core wire and the wrap wire which creates the overall diameter of the string. Nickel wound guitar strings have a very balanced tonal response with sparkling highs, clear mid-range and defined bass. These guitar strings are available in many gauges as single strings and you can also build your own custom gauge nickel guitar string sets with you own perfect balanced tension.
Curt Mangan guitar strings have an overall length of 43 inches with winding to 38.5 inches. All Curt Mangan guitar strings are made with USA made wire.
This guitar string set is also available in pure nickel with hex-core.

Great company
I've had use a lot of strings and Curt Mangan is one of the best string maker in the world. It last a long time.
10-48 gauge
I’ve been playing guitar for 14 years and these strings have been set apart for sound and quality when compared with other string brands. I’ve played almost every brand out there and Curt Mangan strings are the best made strings I’ve played so far. The quality is outstanding and the hold up to a beating!

Nickel wound
Ernie Ball user forever. Tried these on a whim and they are an improvement. I notice a consistent feel and a snappy attack but also a more balanced sound. It’s hard to describe but they just feel very stable and tuned up with little stretching and stay in tune very well. The 10-48 are a great tension for my Les Paul.

I absolutely love these strings. They have a nice smooth feel and seem to need less stretching than most other brands do at installation. They hold tune immediately. This gauge is perfect for my gibsons that I rotate tuning between standard or half step down. They’re great on my strats tuned a half step down also. A nice blend of 10 and 11 sets. They’re keepers!

best sounding strings I've ever used
tried these after hearing about them on TGP. Had been using d'addarios for 10+ years. After the first set, I was hooked. Great feel, great tension, and amazing sound. Been using them for over a year now, and doubt I'll ever go back.
