Nickel-Plated Steel wound strings were introduced in the late Sixties and have become the most popular alloy for electric guitars and bass. Nickel-plated steel tends to offer the most balanced tone.
Nickel Wound strings are created by wrapping Nickel-Plated Steel alloys around a hex-shaped core wire which is made from tin-plated high-carbon steel (same as plain strings, but hex-shaped). The core-to-wrap ratio is the combined diameters of the core wire and the wrap wire which creates the overall diameter of the string.

These are my favorite strings in my favorite gauge for Strats and Teles. I haven't found better strings for the $$ than CM!

Fusion matched electric guitar strings
I’m giving four stars now only because I am just shy of two weeks on these strings and not able to comment on longevity 100% but I have faith they will prevail. I play hard and heavy on a string breaking les Paul. So far I would say there is somewhere around 20 hours playing on these strings and they are holding up beautifully. The tone is a perfect crisp and warm sound. I love that I could get a size set that is basically custom. They turned out perfect for me and I most certainly am switching over to this brand! After I get some time under my belt with these strings I may endorse them. Thanks for making a great product and offer so much selection!
Good Strings
These strings have a good sound. They feel good and I recently switched over to these from another big name brand company with an eagle on the front ;) Most importantly they carry all sorts of strings and are all sealed properly. That's a must!
great sound, great feel, great strings
I used D'Addarios for 10+ years. Tried one pack of Mangans on a recommendation and that was about 2 years ago and I haven't used another brand since. They are fantastic.
