Monel has been around since the early 1900’s and consists of 67% Pure Nickel, 30% Copper, 3% of the magic juice that contains magnesium, zinc and other elements making Monel resistant to salt water (sweat). Monel also has a very unique “earthy” tone and is used on both acoustics and electric instruments. It has built in natural resistance to tarnish and corrosion yet it feels great to the touch and has its own unique tonal color. Monel provides a very rich tone on the neck pickup and this great little growl on the bridge pick up. For acoustic instruments it seems to bring out more the wood sound.

Monel Mandolin Strings
I've been using Curt's strings for a long time now. The thing is, once I started using his strings, I never shopped elsewhere. I think these are the best strings you can buy. I use them on my mandolin (monel & phosphor bronze) and telecaster (pure nickel & nickel wound). All around great company. I could say more but it would be redundant.

Monel Mandolin Strings
I recently purchased a set of the CM Monel mandolin strings, medium gauge. These are the best!! I've been looking for Monel strings for awhile, and am excited that CM is starting to make them! They are top quality, and are easy to play. The Monel gives a tone which is a little more warm and subdued than the typical bluegrass set, which fits well with the music I play. I'm looking forward to trying them on my mandocello, too, once they are in production!!

These are, by far, the best monel mandolin strings available. They have great volume and tone.

I really like the tone I get out of the Monel strings. Wish I would bought the light gauge but still happy with the mediums.
I will buy again. Only light gauge.
